Surgery

If you have seen Mr. Studd and he has recommended a surgical procedure under General Anaesthetic, our team will contact you to make a date for surgery.

Information about your surgery, an estimate of costs, and anything that needs to be completed prior to your surgery (pre-operative blood & urine test, prescriptions, etc.) will be sent out to you about 2 weeks prior to your scheduled surgery date.

Costs

An estimate of costs will be included in your hospital admission pack.  If you require an estimate quicker than this please email "info@urologycarewellington.co.nz" to obtain an estimate.

Your surgery will require a prior approval from your insurance company (Please see insurance/payment for more information).

If you are with Southern Cross or NIB insurance we may be able to apply for your prior approval for some cases, our team will advise you of this.

Before your surgery

Before you undergo surgery with Mr Studd you may be required to do some pre-operative tests.  These could include blood, urine tests, and an ECG or other tests recommended by Mr Studd.

Our preoperative nurse will complete an assessment prior to your surgical date.
